How can I collect BetterDisplay's diagnostic logs?
Open App Menu > Tools > Show Console and enable Logging. Reproduce the problem, then select and copy the relevant output. You can also right-click BetterDisplay's menu-bar icon and choose Show Console.
Keep the console open while reproducing the issue. Its in-memory log buffer is limited, so copy the useful output promptly. For a fresh capture, use Clear Console to remove the displayed output and stored log buffer. Your display settings stay in place.
If you need output from the start of the app, quit BetterDisplay first, then run this in Terminal:
/Applications/BetterDisplay.app/Contents/MacOS/BetterDisplay -v
Adjust the path if you installed the app elsewhere. This starts BetterDisplay with diagnostic output in that Terminal window. Reproduce the problem and retain the lines around it, including any reported error. Quit the app and reopen it normally when finished.
Include the action that triggered the problem and when it occurred, so the log can be matched to the symptom. Review the excerpt before sharing: it can include display identifiers, paths or command values. See Console for logging and buffer behavior.
