Why is an update notice still visible after I disable update checks?

Turning off automatic checks does not dismiss an update that BetterDisplay has already found. Open the existing update offer and choose Skip This Version, when that choice is available, to clear it and remember that you do not want that release offered automatically.

Remind Me Later dismisses the current offer without recording a skipped version. A later manual update check clears the skipped selection and can offer that version again. Some critical or information-only releases have different available actions.
