Why does Scroll Lock or F14 change my display brightness?
BetterDisplay can treat F14 and F15 as alternative brightness keys. On PC keyboards these keys can correspond to Scroll Lock and Pause, so pressing them may adjust brightness when you intended another action.
Open Settings > Keyboard > Native Brightness Key Settings… and turn off Allow using F14/F15 as alternative brightness keys. This disables that alternative mapping without requiring you to stop using BetterDisplay's other brightness-key features.
If the same key still changes brightness, check your custom keyboard shortcuts and any keyboard-remapping software for another assignment. Disabling the alternative mapping does not erase separately configured shortcuts.
