What can I try when remote clicks miss their targets on stacked displays?
Try arranging the displays side by side or in a shorter stack, then reconnect the remote session and compare pointer movement and clicks. A layout-dependent problem can affect remote input even when every display’s image is visible correctly.
Keep the same displays and resolutions for the first comparison so that arrangement is the main variable. If possible, watch the pointer on a physical display attached to the remote Mac as you move it from the client. The client’s visible pointer alone does not prove that the remote Mac is receiving matching coordinates.
If a shorter stack works, you can use that layout as a workaround while investigating. The usable layout depends on the remote client and display configuration, so compare the results in your own session. Record the display coordinates, logical sizes, remote client and whether the issue also occurs with physical displays or another client.
Resetting BetterDisplay or replacing virtual screens with HDMI dummy plugs is not a proven cure for an arrangement-dependent remote-input fault. See display layout protection if you want to retain a layout that works for your session.
