White point
A white point defines the reference color treated as white in a color space, profile or display calibration. Changing it can make the image's whites look warmer or cooler.
White point differs from white luminance, which describes how bright white is. Color temperature is one way to describe white appearance, but does not completely specify every possible white point.
Reference presets may fix a white point for a particular workflow, while True Tone adapts color appearance to the environment. See Color temperature, Reference preset and Apple's color-space documentation.
