YCbCr

YCbCr represents video using one luma component and two color-difference components. You may see it written Y′CbCr to distinguish nonlinear luma from physical luminance. Apple’s Y′CbCr technical note

BetterDisplay lists YCbCr choices when macOS exposes them for a connected display. The name alone does not mean that color detail has been reduced: the chroma subsampling variant tells you about that.

Read the properties together. YCbCr encoding, bit depth, color range and HDR describe different aspects of a mode rather than interchangeable quality levels.

See Color Mode for selecting among the available combinations.
