How can I transfer BetterDisplay settings to another Mac?
Export your BetterDisplay settings on the old Mac, then import the saved file on the new Mac. The app provides both actions under Settings > Application > Advanced Settings & Privacy… > Manage App Settings.
- On the old Mac, choose Export… and save the settings file.
- Copy that file to the new Mac. If BetterDisplay already has settings there that you want to keep, export a separate backup first: importing replaces its existing preferences.
- On the new Mac, choose Import…, select the file, then choose Restart after the import succeeds.
If a connected display does not pick up its imported settings, open that display’s Additional Settings… and find Transfer display settings under Display Identification & Settings Transfer. Select the old, disconnected record for that display. macOS display identifiers can differ between installations, so this step associates the saved settings with the current display.
See preference export and import and display settings transfer for the complete options.
