Compositor filter
A compositor filter changes the image as the system combines content for display. In BetterDisplay, it is one way to apply software image adjustments without asking the monitor to change a hardware setting.
This places it at a different point in the image path from modifying a display's color table or sending a DDC command. A similarly named adjustment can therefore use a different method when a compositor filter is unavailable.
Availability depends on the system and the kind of display or stream. Video Filters and Stream Transformations explains where this processing method can be used and which restrictions apply.
