Display association
A display association links a BetterDisplay configuration to a particular display. The exact relationship depends on the feature: a virtual screen can follow an associated physical display, while a device controller is configured for the display it serves.
In virtual-screen settings, association is a saved relationship that can coordinate connection, orientation, mirroring or streaming according to your selected options. Association alone does not perform all of these actions. Disassociation removes the relationship without deleting either device. See Associated Displays.
In device-controller and integration settings, “associated display” instead means the display whose controller you are configuring. A network device assigned to that display can have a separate network connection from its video connection to the Mac. This relationship is different from a virtual-screen association; its configuration and availability rules belong to the relevant Device Control article.
