Picture in Picture

Picture in Picture (PIP) shows captured screen content in a separate window. You can position or transform that window while keeping the destination display's own desktop arrangement.

A physical display or virtual screen can supply the image. The source must be available and the required capture permission granted before its content can be shown.

PIP is a viewing surface for a stream. Opening a window does not connect a new virtual desktop or change macOS display mirroring. Keeping those roles separate helps when choosing between a mirrored desktop and a window you can move around.

See Picture in Picture for starting, configuring and managing the window.
