Screen Recording permission
Screen Recording permission lets an app capture screen content under macOS privacy rules. A live display or window stream needs capture access even when no recording is saved to a file.
The permission is different from permission to change device settings, listen for keyboard events or run an administrator-authorized helper operation. Granting one does not automatically grant the others.
BetterDisplay checks capture access when starting streams. The app's setup guidance explains the permission state and any required follow-up. See Permissions, Stream Display and Window Stream.
