Shell script

A shell script is a sequence of commands interpreted by a command shell. The shell handles execution, variables, quoting and redirection. Bash and zsh are different shells, so their syntax and startup behavior can differ. The GNU Bash manual

BetterDisplay's Control Integration can execute a configured command and use its result as part of a control action.

Integration placeholders are substituted before execution, so quoting must suit the command after substitution. This is separate from BetterDisplay's Console, which parses app integration commands and is not a general system shell.
