Can one keyboard shortcut switch the inputs of several monitors?
Yes. Create one macOS Shortcut containing a separate BetterDisplay Input Source action for each monitor, then assign a keyboard combination to that Shortcut. Each action selects its own display and input.
- First confirm that each monitor switches correctly from its BetterDisplay Input Source menu.
- In macOS Shortcuts, create a Shortcut and add BetterDisplay’s Input Source action. Select the first monitor and the desired input.
- Add another Input Source action for each remaining monitor, with its own target and input.
- Run the Shortcut to check each result, then use Add Keyboard Shortcut in its details to assign a key combination.
Create a second Shortcut for the return inputs if needed. Use explicit input selections rather than relying on a remembered toggle state. The actions run one after another. One monitor can switch successfully while another does not, so check each result.
Each monitor and connection must support input switching. After switching away, the Mac may lose the command path or access to a keyboard routed through the monitor’s USB hub. Test the return path separately and keep the monitors’ own input selectors available. See switching back after an input change and the Input Source action.
