How can I open an LG TV's service menu from BetterDisplay?

Pair the TV with BetterDisplay's LG webOS controller, then hold ⌥ Option while opening Device Control in the display's app menu. This reveals the service-menu commands for a compatible, connected TV.

  1. Open Settings > Displays > [display] > Device Control and configure the LG webOS controller with the TV's Device IP address. Complete pairing on the TV using its prompt or PIN. See LG webOS connection and pairing for the available methods.
  2. Return to the display's app menu. Hold ⌥ Option before opening Device Control. If the service commands are missing, close the section and reopen it while holding Option.
  3. Choose IN START Service Menu or EZ ADJUST Service Menu, as appropriate for the menu you need. If the TV asks for a password, enable Show LG Remote and use its number buttons to enter the password for that TV.
  4. If you need the TV's expert options, Full Service Menu Access requests an on-TV prompt with Enable, Disable and Cancel. Make the choice on the TV, then open the required service menu.

The commands are disabled until the controller is ready. If it cannot connect, check the TV's saved IP address and network connection. Pairing alone does not establish that the TV's firmware permits every service operation.

Full Service Menu Access changes the TV's service-menu access setting. It does not itself disable automatic dimming or change BetterDisplay's brightness behavior. Settings inside the service menu belong to the TV, and their names and availability depend on its model and firmware. Use model-specific service guidance for changes there.

See Device Control service commands for the shared menu reference.
