DPCD
DisplayPort Configuration Data (DPCD) is a set of registers describing a DisplayPort connection's capabilities, configuration and status. These values help describe the transport carrying the image. AMD’s DisplayPort guide describes these registers
This is different from EDID, which describes the display's identity and advertised image modes. The two sources answer different questions about the same display setup.
BetterDisplay can report DPCD-derived information when its communication path exposes it. If that information is missing, do not conclude that the monitor lacks DisplayPort: an adapter or the current system path may simply keep those registers out of reach.
See Individual Display Settings for the information shown by the app.
